For a museology of the book:

challenges and experiments

What makes literary or book exhibitions distinctive from other exhibitions? This lecture will explore three challenges at the heart of the museology of the book and consider experimental practices that have responded to these challenges. First, we will consider the process of musealization and its impact on the book as exhibition subject and object. We will then address issues linked to the inherent interdisciplinarity of book and literary exhibitions. Finally, we will focus on challenges related to collaborations and interlingual and intermedial translations. Crossing theory and practice, this talk hopes to outline essential features of a museology of the book.​
