Thank you for your interest in our symposium.

We have created this website to gather all the relevant information in one place. Just click on the menu tabs above for further details.

The symposium will take place over the course of two days in July 2023: Monday 17th July and Tuesday 18th July.
Day one will take place at the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, University of Manchester (UK). Presentations on this day will be in hybrid format and focus on the sharing of methodological approaches and theoretical frameworks currently employed across disciplines to investigate a range of topics related to the exhibition of books and literature.
Day two will be an opportunity for networking and for meeting with professionals currently working in exhibitions. This will include a visit to the Portico Library and a lunch reception, a guided tour and further talks at the John Rylands Research Institute and Library.
We are delighted to have Prof. Dr. Emilie Sitzia, Associate Professor Cultural Education at Maastrich University, as keynote for the symposium. Dr Sitzia holds a Special Chair at the University of Amsterdam as director of the Word and Image research group, and has a wealth of experience working at the intersection of literary studies, art history and museology.
